If you
are looking at this website because of a recent death in your
family or other circle, please accept the church’s sincere
condolences. We would like to help you. First, the death should be
reported as soon as possible to the Rector, the Rev. Patricia
Barrett. Please consult with her about funeral arrangements before
dates are set by the family and friends, as there are customs and
requirements that must be observed in the Episcopal Church.
Baptized
Christians are properly buried from the church, although the
Church has a provision for burial of one who is not a professing
Christian. Cremation
is not forbidden. The burial service is ideally held at a time
when congregation members and others have an opportunity to be
present.
Your
conversation will also include any further wishes about a service
at the gravesite, or the place of repose for ashes.
