Afterschool Play November 5-16

After School Newsletter

Dear After School Families:

Happy November!  It has been an exciting last few weeks at the grange.  We had special guests from the neighboring school do a spooky play for the children.  The children were excited to see the “big kids” preform for them and some of the children in the play remembered Mrs. Ruth from when they were backpackers.  It’s always nice to see and welcome back old friends to grange.

We also have been working on our Spookies and will be going home soon.  I know the children had a lot of fun making the famous square pumpkin, while listening and learning from the pumpkin’s tale about accepting other regardless of our differences.

Our November Focus:

We say good bye to ghoulish October and say hello to thankful November! During the month of November we will be focusing on the concept of thankfulness.  It’s almost Thanksgiving and it’s a great time to start talking about being grateful for all that we have and for those loved ones dear to us. We will be working on our gratitude tree that will be our bulletin board.  Each leave will be something that the children is grateful for.  We will also be making our turkey art projects that they will be taking home right before Thanksgiving break.

Toys Stay Home:

The children have been bringing toys to the Grange.  Please gently remind them to leave their special toys at home.  Toys from home have been known to get lost at the grange when brought out to play with.

Dress in Layers:

Help the children to dress in layers.  The weather has been giving us cold mornings and warm afternoons.  This is helpful for when we are outside and the children can take off their warmer layer to get to the layer that will help them cool off.

No Show Email or Text:

We do care if we do not see your child during their normal pick up.  Emailing or texting will give us a good reference to keep track during pick up.  My email is and cell is 831-915-3324.

Have a terrific week!
