Afterschool Play April 1 - 12

After School Newsletter

Dear After School Families:

Spring is here and the children are thrilled to be in the garden.  Everyday we tend to the garden by watering all the plants, taking out weeds of the flower beds, and planting vegetables. The children just planted cabbage heads, tomatoes, zucchini squash, and green onions.  They are excited and are eager to see how the veggies will grow.

Another garden project that they have is growing flowers. The children recently planted some flowers in cups, and they are patiently waiting for them to grow into beautiful flowers. It’s been sweet to watch them water not only their flowers, but to water those of their friends who are not in attendance that day.

Our April Focus:

In honor of Earth Day on April 22nd, we will be working on earth friendly projects all month.  We will be making recycle signs that can be used at home, making our own water filter (making dirty water clean), and lots of fun art activities.  This is a great time to introduce to children reuse, reduce, recycle.

Afternoon in the Park:

On April 12th the Preschool will be doing their annual Beach Day! This means everyone will be heading to the beach family fun. We will still have Toro Pick Ups this day.  Since we are unable to go to the beach, we will be going to the park.  We will have lunch and play. We plan to be back at the Grange at 1pm.  I will send out an email the day before.

Art Projects:

Please remember to take your child’s art projects home.  Their names are located above your child’s name tag on the cubbies.  The children often know which art theirs and help let you locate their art.

No Show Email or Text:

We do care if we do not see your child during their normal pick up.  Emailing or texting will give us a good reference to keep track during pick up.  My email is and cell is 831-915-3324.

Have a terrific week!
