Wednesday (12/19) Christmas Evening Program

Minimum day and school will end at 1:00. NO AFTERNOON ENRICHMENT.

This is a sweet program, the children from both sites will sing several Christmas songs together in the sanctuary. The program will be followed by cookies and milk in the Parish Hall.   All children must be dropped off at the Church site no later than 5:10. This will give them time to get into their nativity costumes and be ready for the program at 5:30.

Friday (12/21) Pajama Day  Minimum day and school will end at 1:00. NO AFTERNOON ENRICHMENT. NO LUNCH NEEDED THIS DAY!

The children come to school in their pajamas. In the morning we will make cookies and hot cocoa which they will eat later during snack time.  Together with the Purple Family, we will make a special lunch to eat together. On the menu is  PB&J sandwiches, a fruit salad and milk.

Christmas Break will start on 12/24. School resumes on Tuesday, January 8th.

Dear Backpacker Families,

The children have been busy practicing songs, making gifts and cards. To get ready for the Christmas program, they have been having fun dressing up as shepherds, kings, Mary, and sheep.   We have discussed the desert, animals that live in the desert and the birthplace of Jesus.  We discussed how the Nomads travel on camels and how they find their camels after a sandstorm by playing the camel game. The children have worked on making a lovely Christmas bulletin board.  Make sure you come take a look.

During math time the class made a large christmas tree from smaller triangles they had painted and decorated. This was hard work for some. We are continuing to work on counting, matching numbers, patterning, seriation and sequencing skills.

All the teachers and I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!      See you in 2019!

Ms. Ruth
