Dear Backpacker Families,

The children are working hard to make the classroom theirs by making wonderful art

work to decorate our walls. They have made watercolor art, practiced using liquid glue to

make a popsicle house.  Everyone helped to make a fingerpaint a Friendship Rainbow.

We mixed primary colors to make the orange, green, and purple in our rainbow. During family time we have been discussing what it means to be be kind. I’m seeing more children helping each other clean up. We’ve focused on who are

the people in our families. We’ve talked about foods which help us stay healthy and strong.

During family time, we have a daily focus:

Monday: Art; Tuesday: Math & snack lessons; Wednesday: Science; Thursday: Drawing & dictating Journal stories; Friday: Zoo Phonics/ letter sounds.

We will have our first “All School

Chapel” Once a month the whole school meets for “All school chapel” at the

church. at 9:00 It’s about 10 minutes long.Be punctual as we begin on time. It’s short and you don’t want to miss it. Afterwards, take your child back to the Grange.  If you have signed up for Early Arrival, we will transport your child to the church and back in the school van.  This month’s theme is “Blessing of the Animals” Pastor Linda will bless all our pets.I will bring Kingy our class Snake. Bring your pets to be blessed. Please bring dogs on a leash. your child may bring in a photograph of your pet in a zip-lock bag or bring in a special lovey toy animal.

AField Trip to the Farm is coming up on Monday 8th at 9:30. We will have a sign-up for carpool drivers to take us and bring us back to school. If you are driving other children besides your own, we will need a copy of your driver’s license and current car insurance.

Have a great week
