Chapel October 8

We are off and running with our Chapel stories!  Last week, we heard the story of Creation, and this week, happily converging with the Blessing of the Animals for the Feast of St. Francis, we heard the story of the Flood.  The stories thread into each other.  At the end of each day of creation, God said, “It is good.”  The beginning of the story of the Flood reiterates this:  After God created everything, God said, “It is good.” Many of the children remembered and affirmed it with me. “It is good.”

Given the story and the rainy weather, we sang, “The wise man built his house upon the rock.”  You may hear it around your house - probably the refrain, “The rains came down and the floods came up.” It is a favorite with the returning students.  I expect the new ones will pick it up fast.

It is so exciting for the children to get to share about their pets – and even bring some of them to school! Thank you to all the parents who helped their children bring  actual pets, pictures, and stuffed animals and joined us for All School Chapel.  If you weren’t able to make it this time, we hope to see you at the next one – November 7th and 8th.

Blessings,  Chaplain Angela
