From Your Stewardship Team

Do your eyes glaze over a bit when it comes to the annual Fall finance campaign? Do you shift a bit in your seat? Do you NOT want to be the person asking for money?

If you answered yes, you are in good company. Talking about money is a bit taboo, right? Asking for money is definitely taboo!

But here’s the thing. Jesus talked a lot about money. Way more than he talked about sex or politics. He had no problem talking about money because the connection between money and worship and our spiritual health is so interwoven that it intimately affects our well-being.

One of the many things to appreciate about Good Shepherd is that our finances are in good order. We get good monthly accounts of how things stand in our income and expenses. And people step up and care, deeply.

What your Annual Campaign Team wants to do this year is to make the Jesus connection clear.  Our goal is to help us all grow in our relationship with Jesus through the use of the time, talents and finances God has entrusted to us. We want you to increase your giving – not so that the church might have more money – but so that you can grow in your relationship with your Lord and Savior. Because what we know is that giving intentionally, regularly, generously, first, proportionally, and cheerfully will lead your heart to Jesus.

So prepare to hear and talk about money – not just in October and November, but year round – because we want for you to grow closer to God at all times!
