A Resurrection Shaped Life Tuesday Book Group through March
The March Lenten Book Study meets on Tuesdays, March 12, 19 and 26, at 10 a.m .and 6:30 p.m.
Our book is: A Resurrection Shaped Life. Dying and Rising on Planet Earth, by Jake Owensby
“The world breaks everyone and afterward many are beautiful in the broken places.” This quote is from Ernest Hemingway’s Farewell to Arms, except that it substitutes the word “beautiful” for the word “strong.” By replacing “strong” with “beautiful”, Episcopal Bishop Jake Owensby is encouraging us to look for what God does in the broken places of our lives. Because, he says, “the message of the resurrection is that God transforms the live we are actually living - sorrow, wounds, regrets, all - into symbols of love’s power to mend and heal.
