The Blue Family will be meeting INSIDE for the month of December. If it is not raining, we go outside so please dress your children appropriately for the weather and make sure they have extra clothes including socks and shoes in case they get wet.

CUBBIES AND SIGN-IN BOOK SLEEVES: You should have received your touch base reports. They were in the sign-in book sleeve. Please check the sign-in book daily. Be sure to take your child’s artwork in the top portion of their cubby each day as well. I noticed some children still have their Thanksgiving cards in their cubby.

DESERT:  We started a unit on the Desert. We will be learning about the climate and plants & animals that live on the desert. We decorated a camel for our desert bulletin board and looked a variety of pictures of deserts and discussed what kinds of things we would find in the desert.

CHRISTMAS:  We have been practicing our Christmas songs. Miss Sandy used a nativity and costumes to teach the children about the Christmas story.  These costumes will be in our dress-up area for the rest of the month.  STREETS OF BETHLEHEM at the First Baptist Church in Salinas is a wonderful opportunity for your family to learn about the Christmas story and desert animals. It is December 5th-8th from 6-8:30.

JOBS:  The children have started picking jobs at school. Each Monday, they will get a chance to pick a new job.  There is a line leader, fish feeder, prayer leader, etc. They are very excited about it!

GIVING:  We are focusing on giving this holiday season.  There is a Christmas tree by the side doors to the right of the sign-in table.  We are collecting: hats, gloves, socks and blankets for homeless adults and children.  You also have a chance to model giving by purchasing a toy to donate to the Salvation Army at All School Chapel.
