The Rev. Linda McConnell, Rector
Pastor Linda is passionate about Jesus, church, family, resilience, and creativity. Her divinity graduate studies at Pacific School of Religion and Church Divinity School of the Pacific taught her that academics are good and practice is even better. She practices Centering Prayer, walking with her dog, Zami, caring for her grandchildren, Alma and Winston, and eating really good food with friends. She loves the orthodox classics, St. John of the Cross, Teresa of Avila, the desert fathers and mothers, as well as more modern classics, Oswald Chamber’s My Utmost for His Highest, C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity, and truly modern authors such as Glennon Cannon Doyle, Cynthia Bourgeault. Thomas Keating, David Lose, among others. When she is not at church, she’s probably hiking, gardening or writing.
Her sermons are on our website. Email: email@example.com
Izabelle Woods, Parish Administrator
Izabelle has a bachelor's degree in Global Studies - so if you know anyone who has questions about pointless degrees she's happy to help. She has over 6 years of experience in sales and marketing in the for-profit industry, and she does freelance marketing and web-development for small organizations. When she's not over-committing herself, she likes to go camping and work through the stacks of books on her shelves written by authors, much like herself, with a fondness for SAT words and run-on sentences. Her favorite places in the world usually involve a hot summer's day, a silent lake at the top of a mountain, and the beginnings of a sunburn. She's excited to jump in feet first at Good Shepherd.
Rachel Brune, Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministries
Rachel Brune recently arrived in Monterey from Fayetteville, NC. A military spouse and Army
Reservist, she is currently the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry at Church of the
Good Shepherd. Rachel’s journey in church ministry began in high school, when she began
playing guitar and singing with her parish’s music ministry. She has continued to participate in
parish life even during her time in the military, leading music in the Catholic parish in Kuwait and
in church services on military bases in Iraq. She and her spouse, Robert, have two small
children and look forward to becoming part of the Good Shepherd faith community.

Sandy started a preschool at her home and did her student teaching at the Hartnell College Child Development Center. She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1997. Sandy received her credential from the State of California in 1998. Since then she has become a Mentor teacher and taken the specified Administration classes to hold the Director position. Letty Sloma, Bookkeeper
Letty has been employed at Good Shepherd since February 2012, originally as the Parish Administrator, and now as the church's Bookkeeper. She left her administrator job in November 2016 to pursue her lifelong passion to be a full-time photographer! You'll spot her on many occasions here at Good Shepherd, behind her camera, and taking photos of people and events. She is married to Michael, an elementary school teacher in Salinas; and is a devoted mother to two daughters, Christina and Catherine. Letty was born in the Philippines, and she spent her childhood through her junior year in high school in Guam before moving again in 1981, this time to California. She received her B.S. in Business Administration in 1987 from San Francisco State University, and began a career in banking in Northern California right after college. Her job in banking opened up an opportunity to move to Monterey, and eventually Salinas. Apart from her love for photography, some of Letty's interests include reading, taking walks, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Letty is very grateful to still be a part of Good Shepherd's community, and the opportunities it has provided to grow her faith in and love for Christ. Email: email@example.com
