Weddings, Civil Rights & The Gospel of John

Sunday, we celebrate with Jesus, who loved weddings and people and parties. The Gospel of John records that the first sign he did was at a wedding, turning ordinary water into the finest of wines - He can do this with our lives as well. Come and celebrate this Sunday.

Martin Luther King, Jr., whose life we celebrate on Monday, wrote that the end of any Christian action is "reconciliation and redemption - the end is the creation of the Beloved Community. It is this type of understanding goodwill that will transform the deep gloom of the old age into the exuberant gladness of the new age."

On Monday, 11 a.m.,  you are invited to join our musicians, choir members and clergy in the MLK, Jr. "I have a dream" walk and celebration, beginning and ending at First United Methodist Church at 404 Lincoln Ave., Salinas.

May you know the exuberant gladness of the Beloved Community in your own life. God's peace,

God's peace,
Linda+
