At the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, we walk with people through life’s most meaningful moments. The sacraments and sacred rites of the Church are outward and visible signs of God’s inward and spiritual grace. Whether you are celebrating a new beginning, affirming your faith, blessing a marriage, seeking healing, or saying goodbye to a loved one, we offer the love and support of this community and the presence of Christ in word, prayer, and sacrament.
The Holy Eucharist remains the heart of our life together every Sunday, nourishing us between these milestone moments.

How may we walk with you today?
Holy Baptism is the sacrament of new life and full initiation into the Body of Christ. Through water and the Holy Spirit, we are united with Jesus in his death and resurrection, welcomed into God’s family, and marked as Christ’s own forever.
We joyfully baptize infants, children, and adults. Preparation is provided for parents and godparents so that the promises made at the font can be lived out in daily life. Baptisms are typically celebrated on selected Sundays throughout the year and at the Easter Vigil.
Holy Baptism
Confirmation is the opportunity for those baptized as infants or children to make a mature, public affirmation of their faith and receive the strengthening gifts of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands by a bishop.
We offer thoughtful preparation programs for both youth and adults. Adults who were baptized in another Christian tradition may also be received into the Episcopal Church through this rite.
Confirmation & Reception
Christian marriage is a sacred covenant of mutual love, fidelity, and lifelong commitment, blessed by God in the presence of the community.
We are delighted to celebrate weddings for couples in which at least one partner is baptized. The Episcopal Church blesses both traditional and same-sex marriages. Preparation with the clergy (typically several sessions) helps couples explore the spiritual dimensions of marriage and plan a meaningful liturgy.
Holy Matrimony
Through prayer, the laying on of hands, and anointing with holy oil, we ask God’s grace for healing, strength, and peace—whether for physical, emotional, or spiritual needs.
We offer Healing Prayer Services quarterly, as well as private anointing by appointment. This ancient rite is available to anyone who desires it, not only at the end of life.
Healing Ministry & Anointing
The Burial of the Dead is a proclamation of the resurrection and an opportunity for the community to give thanks for a life, mourn with those who grieve, and commend the departed to God’s loving care.
We provide compassionate support in planning services that honor the deceased and comfort the living. Services may be held in the church, at a graveside, or in other meaningful locations.
